Speaker: "Powered wheelchairs with assist as needed control"
Mr Tatsuto Suzuki is a former associate professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Maizuru National College of Technology (MNCT). He left MNCT at the end of September 2013 to prepare to move to University College London (UCL). He was an Associate staff of UCL Department of Civil, Environmental & Geomatic Engineering from October 2011 to September 2012. He also had worked as a research fellow at the Control Engineering Laboratory headed by former Professor Hironobu Uchiyama at Kansai University (KU) until March 2013. Mr Suzuki’s primary research goals are directed toward understanding and modelling human musculoskeletal movements, developing assistive and rehabilitation systems, and validating these with end users to increase accessibility in aged and disabled people. He has published papers in Japanese Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME), and Japan Ergonomics Society. He had also supervised numerous MSc projects at KU, and had taught on several fields to MNCT students.
